Ok, ever since I got the MSSM email last week with everyone's emails listed openly, I've been getting wierd messages in my inbox labeled "Mail Delivery" type problem, coming from people whose emails were on the MSSM list. (The reason I picked up on this was because they were all listed as .edu. Is anyone else having this problem? I might have to call MSSM to tell them about it. Wierd.

Me too. I've also been getting e-mails with attachments. My Yahoo anti-virus software has warned me that they contain viruses. Oh, and I also got 2 e-mails so far with some zip file - the body has the password to open the zip file.

naturally, i deleted them all without opening them - i love web-based e-mail.

I'm very pissed at mt. sinai. they should've known better.

they did this mass email thing last year, too.

Yeah. They made mistake #1 by not BCCing the email. When someone receives this email (on a computer already infected with a virus or worm), the computer will automatically send the virus (or worm) back to the sender and any other recipients of the email. BCCing the email would essentially "hide" the recipients. You wouldn't know who else received the email. Perhaps someone should tell them about "blind carbon copies" (BCCs) for emails.

you can play this to your advantage maybe...send every person on that list an email with a bogus Sinai email address, and have it start "we regret to inform you that we will no longer be considering your application..."

should make things easier for you 😛

OMG--I have opened some of the emails but none of the attachments--they looked too sketchy. I'm at work, does this mean my company computer could have gotten a virus now? If it does, that's awful. Help!

Agreed, my Yahoo bulk mail box has been pretty full the past couple days with crap. Never suspected it was the sinai email though.

BTW, you are good as long as you don't open the attachments...
