Hello.

Before I call ADA.... I was wondering if anyone can help me....

I am having difficulty becoming a member of ADA and logging in...
I went to http://ada.org/ and registered for a DENTPIN.
I got an email saying that the registration was successful.
However, when I go to "Member Log In" on the ADA website and type in the DENTPIN and my password, the system doesn't recognize me...

Can anyone help me? Thank you!!!

the dentpin is only used to register for the DAT(order score reports) and later down the road for the boards.

It does not give you membership to the ADA.

DENTPIN is used to register for a date to take the admissions test on the prometric website.

ADA membership is not a dentpin...

If you don't mind, can someone explain to me the steps I need to follow in order to register for DAT?

I believe I need to apply to ADA first to receive an eligibility code, then I can register for the test? I went to the "Membership Types & Application" page, but I couldn't find the application for undergrad dental students...

Thank you!!!!

here you go

http://www.ada.org/dat.aspx

since you already have a dentpin go to step 2. and choose DAT electronic application.

You'll have to log in with your dentpin then answer a few mandatory questions, a few voluntary ones, pick out up to 5 schools you want the scores to go to then pay.

But just in you don't and actually made a different login. here's the dentpin registration link

https://www.ada.org/1225.aspx

I suggest you pick the 5 schools you want now. It is included with the registration. If you don't pick 5 schools then later when you want to send a report out you'll have to pay $25 per school. It is an all or none opportunity. So you can save $125 bucks. Also make sure you really want to go to apply to the schools you picked out. It would be a waste of money to randomly pick any schools merely for the sake of picking them. That and you can't go back and change them after you submit your application. So double check that you picked the right schools.

Keep a copy of the schools you picked either save the email or print it out. for some odd reason they have no way for you to retrieve that info. Again you don't want to waste money on duplicate reports.

After that you just wait until they email you a registration code. Its the weekend so you probably won't get it till monday or so. Even then it may take 1-3 days business days before the prometric has your registration info in their system.

Then you just pick a center a date and time and study away.
