How is everyone logging procedures? I’m interested in what employers look for when reviewing these logs. Do they just care about how many EGDs, colos etc you do?

Or is it more so I’ve done X polypetomies, banded X EVs?

Keep a record on excel and also print the logs without patients information and have your PD verified each year and get the PD to state how many procedures you have done. Also get the PD to mention other things like travel awards to Liver meetings, ACG second year and AGA, ASGE third year work shops that train you.
Put your motility, IBD and even number of ERCP, EUS on the letter. Also get a letter for your record also.

No one has asked about how many numbers I have done. They ask for certification or what I am competent enough to do.

Can just automatically run an individual report on provation or endopro to do it for you

Thanks. That is very helpful.

When you say the number of IBD and motility do you mean how many IBD cases you’ve done (presumably because they’re harder) or simply if you’ve done enough IBD eg longitudinal clinic to be tagged as somewhat of an ibd specialist?

Number of IBD patients you treated in clinic or if you did IBD mini fellowship.

Number of motility studies you did (eso/ano)

Sounds painful. I just had them print out the data from Provation, and then had my PD sign a letter listing all the things I was credentialed/qualified to do. No job is going to care how many IBD patients you saw in clinic.

Very true no job has ever asked about IBD patients. Also the correct way to do it is to print it out and get the PD to sign a letter just like you did.

I was more referring to the mini one month fellowships in IBD and motility programs.

Ah I see, like the CCFA visiting fellow or something? My program is big on IBD so I probably won’t be pursuing that. I think most fellows interested in IBD can claim to be specialists in practice if they work hard to pick up extra clinics in IBD.
