Hello every one,

I'm sure this has been asked before, although I haven't been able to find an exact answer to this question: How does it work for admission or rejection on December 1? I am mostly curious about individuals who are not accepted on December 1...when is the second wave of acceptances? Any input on how this works would be appreciated!

Thanks!

It's different for every school. I would say at least a month before they give out any more acceptances.

If you already interviewed then you will be informed of a decision by Dec 1st (acception/rejection/waitlist). There is no set date for a second wave of acceptance letters. If you did not have a pre-Dec 1st interview then it varies by school and they (technically) don't have to make a decision regarding your file until Fall '09... basically you have to be patient.

that is actually not the case for all schools. many schools interview students in sept, oct, nov and do not sent them an acceptance or rejection. LLU is an example of one, but i know there are many more. so just because you have a pre-dec interview does not mean you will be accepted/rejected Dec 1. Not the case at all schools but at least at some

Wrong! If you do not get accepted on Dec 1st, then it does not mean you are automatically waitlisted or rejected. Schools will keep offering acceptances up until the first day of class.

Ok thanks every one, that makes a lot more sense. I'm mostly just scared of having to wait even longer (its been a lot of waiting already as every one knows) and just wondering how long we would have to wait for an acceptance if we don't get one December 1...I'm scared of having to wait until June again to hear back...

I'm sure there are a lot of people in my situation (a few pre-december interviews) buy just scared of not getting accepted even by next March?

😱

I did not say that you will be automatically anything, klpennin. Obviously if you have not received a decision by Dec 1st then it doesn't mean waitlist/rejection. I thought that schools had to inform you of a decision if you had a pre-Dec 1st. But i guess it's not the case... and now that i think about it a bit more, Dec 1st is the first batch of acceptance letters (so i guess only the decision for acceptance is made). The decision for acceptance varies by school after Dec 1st and can be made up until the first day of school (i know someone who got accepted 2 weeks before ds last cycle). Thanks for the correction needa20 and sorry about any confusion, OP.
