Has anyone seriously considered or used a service that helps you with your application, interview prep, etc.? I am looking closely at prehealthadvising.com but am happy to hear actual reviews of others. Don’t want to spend money on a service that isn’t legit or helpful.

I've never heard of this, but considering she's an MD I would be skeptical how much she actually knows about vet school admissions, I wouldn't spend the money. Your best resource is going to be talking directly to admissions at the schools you plan on applying to. As far as mock interviews go, you can probably do one for free through your undergrad school's career center (even if you've graduated, my school at least offers them to alumni as well). And of course there's a lot of great free advice on this forum if you search around, just take things with a grain of salt!

I know the application process is a daunting ordeal, and seeking guidance is wise. But, there are plenty of ways to get very useful information and feedback specific to applying to vet school fo free.
My main resources were the VMCAS and school websites, this forum (big emphasis on this forum), and friends who were a year or two ahead of me in the pre-vet/vet school adventure. Worked out quite well.
I did a mock interview with career services at my undergrad institution, too. Also be sure to check out the interview feedback area on SDN for examples of interview questions people have been asked in the past.

The fact literal thousands of applicants have been accepted without this shows this type of service is not worth the money. You're better off saving your money, doing application shenanigans yourself, and using that money to have a great summer prior to the start of vet school.

I agree big time with bat. I kept seeing ads on Facebook for companies like BEMO and seriously considered it because I had low academic stats. Then I realized slowly that it really wasn’t that hard to apply to school. Once VMCAS opens up, it’s pretty much a one stop shop that tells you probably 99% of what you need to know for applying to each school. There are people on here who will read your personal statement and give advice on what to include and what’s important/unimportant. Don’t worry too much about it. You can actually do yourself a disservice by trying to be someone other than yourself when applying. If people tend to like who you are when you’re in professional settings, then that’s who you should be when applying to schools. Everyone is different though, so if you feel like you need to ask for help, go for it. But I wouldn’t pay for it. Especially not the hundreds/thousands that advising services ask. Save that money for applying and then enjoying yourself.
