Professional Attire + Winter Coat = ???

So obviously, you wear business professional clothing to an interview. However, most schools have their interviews in the winter...when it's super cold. This might sound dumb, but how am I supposed to wear a winter coat?? I feel like I can't really wear it over my suit jacket because it would probably get wrinkled, but then it would also be kind of weird to just carry around my suit jacket during tours while I'm wearing a coat. What do even you do in this situation???

Since I'm flying in for a lot of my interviews I'm bringing a backpack since I'll be headed to the airport right after. I was just planning on putting my jacket inside my backpack or whatever. I've called a couple places and asked about backpacks and they said usually they'll have a spot for you to put your stuff.

I don't think it'd be weird for you to carry it around! Like the other person said too, they'll probably have an area for you to put your stuff. Also, you could use this to your advantage or as a conversation starter if you're not used to the cold weather etc and make light of it. And sure, appearances matter, but I don't think they're going to expect you to not bring a winter coat and freeze! They won't judge you for trying to keep warm!

wearing a coat over a suit is perfectly fine especially if its some kind of pea coat. Also the school will have a place for you to keep your stuff. Don't stress too much 🙂
