Now is there a difference in terms of receiving a LOR from any of these?

On our school website, my Gen Chem professor is categorized as a "lecturer", that is, doesn't say professor or anything. Is it ok to get a LOR as long as its from the faculty of sciences?

Also, if I get a LOR from my Professor who teaches Microbiology, can that be used for Biology?

as long as he/she is a PhD, i don't think anyone will question it.

and yes, microbiology will count as your biology letter.

I think what matters most is what your recommender has to say about you, not whether a person is a lecturer or an assoc professor or professor emeritus. In other words, choose the person who you think will write a good LOR. Gl

What about someone who is a post-doc? They have their PhD and are teaching a semester or two but are no listed as profs, lecturers etc?
