does progesterone only inhibit further secretion of LH? or does it inhibit FSH as well?

THis is what I remember...

LH induces the ruptured follicle to become the corpus luteum and then the c.l. secretes estrogen and progesterone to build up the uterine lining in preparation for implantation and both LH and FSH are inhibited.

Hope it helps

progesterone inhibits LH and FSH which is why progesterone is one of the main ingredients in birth control pills

thats what i thought, but i couldn't find a definitive answer. Thanks to both of you!
