Program Group Chat Question

Being the internet denizen I am, I was wondering if any of y'alls programs ever tried setting up group chat servers (e.g. discord, FB messenger, hangouts, etc.) for your fellow residents, either within your program, or for all the programs at your site? If so, what did y'all use?

Whatsapp is the easiest. Both Android and iPhone support it. End-to-end encryption.
