I was wondering if anyone knows when the intern year begins for most programs (I know technically it's July 1, but I think a lot of places have orientation in June etc.). I'm particularly interested in when BWH and MGH may start.

Interns at BWH start on June 20th. There are a few days of orientation beforehand. In the current system, this early start gives interns 8 days off before starting Junior year, and 2 days off at the end of Senior year to move. (Used to be 10 days off after intern year.)

Hi!

Anyone knows the usual start date for IM at the University of Michigan? I know is June 07, however, not sure if early june or late june. The other question for previous residents, What kind of introductory program do new interns have, how many days, etc.? When the actual on-calls starts?

Earliest start date I have heard is June 11th. (Just something to keep in mind if you are planning a wedding, honeymoon, vacation, etc.)

BWH starts June 9 (New Intern Camping trip!)... So yeah, it starts really early....
