Program telling you that they are ranking you

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Be wary of those promises and rank programs based on your criteria, not on where you think a program will rank you. Some programs in the past have told dozens of candidates that they would "be ranked highly". If you rank the program highly because of that statement, the program benefits by having a large pool of applicants ranking them, making the program's rank list the deciding factor.

Thanks for the advice. I am not putting all my eggs in one basket so no worries there.

My program did sent me an email right after my interview, stating that they ranked me highly on their list, and this is one of my favorite prg too.. and before their deadline of rank list of the applicant, which was 2/15, they sent me another email, saying the same thing.. i did rank them as my no. 1 choice at the end, and i matched there.. So, the bottom line is, rank according to your preference, dont let anyone influence you. (in my case, they did influece my decision a bit ... lol), just remember MATCH process is favoring the applicant side.

ps: one of my friend, matched into Radiology, she got a FEDex letter, the next day from the prg, saying the same thing, and she matched to that prg too.. so, use your judgement.

There are progs famous for aggressively calling applicants. The above stories are nice but for everyone with a successful match, I am sure there are many that did not match at a program that appeared to be ranking them # 1.

Many programs also pride themselves on minimal to no communication before the match, such as UU.

I told my CBY and Anes prog that I was ranking them #1 and they both basically said, "that's nice".

I matched at my #1 programs but I had no statements that supported that.

which programs are known for aggressively calling/emailing applicants?
which are typically silent?
(just want to know which ones not to read too much into)

Didnt want to say anything that could be construed as negative but it has been said before...

MAYO. They called me a bunch of times and wrote. They are known to do this to lots of people.

I cant remember who else that was aggressive.

UU, OHSU try to NOT contact applicants.
