Hi everyone - When applying for programs, did you make your list based on a tiered system? If so, how did that work for scheduling interviews and making your match list?
For example, I would like to do subspecialty peds, and so would like to apply at a lot of schools that also offer fellowship programs. I'm wondering how many of those schools I should apply to, but should I also throw in a few less well known programs (like my state schools, etc.) to play it safe? And (I know this is so typical of us type A peeps to want all the details!) how many would you suggest?
Everyone seems to say that it depends on your level of competitiveness, but I'm hoping some of you can offer some general advice...??
Thanks!
