Hi everyone! I am a 3rd year medical student who is interested in ENT. Does anyone have any information on any of the schools in Chicago? I am considering doing an away rotation at one of the programs there, and I was just wondering if anyone had some insight or advice for me. Also, are away rotations hard to get? I am assuming that I should have away lined up here pretty soon since 3rd year is quickly coming to an end.

Thanks so much!

When I was a 4th year (2009-2010) I rotated at both Loyola and UIC. Loyola's program is of very good quality and within Chicago ENT circles is very well respected. The facilities are very nice as well. UIC has some committed and nationally respected attendings (especially if you are interested in facial plastics), facilities are a bit more spartan. Loyola, as of the 2010 application cycle was offering an interview to all of their rotators (something becoming more rare). So, I would suggest submitting an application to rotate there. UIC does not offer interviews automatically to everyone rotating. I would suggest submitting an application to both ASAP as spots tend to fill up quickly over the next three months.
Don't know as much about NW or U of C.

Does anyone have any experience/information to share about University of Chicago program? Residency, faculty, as well as away rotation experience? Thanks 🙂
