Programs in India For Phaco?

Does anyone know about good programs in India or other places abroad to gain more surgical experience in phaco? I have already completed my residency in ophthalmology so already know the basics.

I have come across some names just searching on the internet but don't know which of these places might be better than others, and whether they are worth the money. Programs that would allow you to be the primary surgeon and have a variety of cases would be ideal.

Would really appreciate any info or firsthand experience that people have.

Try Aravind or LV Prasad in India.

You could also do one of those medical missions. I remember seeing one in China where you do a minimum of 20 cataracts a day for 1 month. But I think they want more experienced surgeons... not ones who are still learning.

If you want good surgical experience in the U.S., work at a HMO like Kaiser...or open shop in some rural area where there is a cataract backlog.
