Hey All,

I had some questions about some programs which have not yet downloaded anything from the ERAS postoffice. The programs are:
1. SUNY at Buffalo Graduate Medical-Dental Education Consortium Program, Buffalo, NY
2. University of Rochester Program, Rochester, NY
3. Newark Beth Israel Medical Center Program, Newark, NJ
4. Michigan State/Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies, Kalamazoo, MI
5. Indiana University School of Medicine Program, Indianapolis, IN
6. University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago Program, Chicago, IL
7. Medical College of Georgia Program, Augusta, GA

What I want to know is:
1. Is this delay expected from these programs? Is it because they have yet to start the whole process?
2. Do programs have the option of deciding what to download? Can they decide on which applications to download and which to ignore?

Thanks in advance!

Programs do have the option of when to download. Some progrmas download once a week, some once a day (like mine)... it is all up to their discretion.

Q, DO

I wouldn't worry about it too much, the Match is a marathon not a sprint...you're not even to mile 5 yet.

I happened to ask our coordinator (Rochester) the other day if we had started to get applications yet. If I remember correctly she said that they had not yet downloaded the software to run this year's ERAS. I wouldn't get worried about any programs not downloading this early. Many programs will not even review files until Dean's Letters are out on 11/1 (I am pretty sure that is the case with Rochester) so there's really no need to download this early. Also remember that ACEP is coming up and many program directors will be busy preparing for and traveling to the meeting. I did not receive my first invite until after ACEP last year.

Hang in there!

Hey, thanks for that info on Rochester. When exactly is the ACEP meeting being held?

There's also a residency fair being held at ACEP Scientific Assembly on the 11th for those of you who will be attending. I'm making the long trip across the pond for the ACEP meeting - should be good.

I've had the same experience with a couple of programs not downloading anything yet: Medical College of Georgia, Johns Hopkins, & UNC.

Just a side note about Rochester: I loved that program. If it wasn't for geographical reasons, I probably would have ranked it number one or two. The people, curriculum, facilities, and schedule are all exceptional.

i know... rochester is very high on my list... but it all depends on if they decide to give me a call...
