Programs on your PDA?

What programs do you use on your PDA? I have Epocrates but I'm unimpressed with the clinical diagnosis/ treatment guidelines sections. I was thinking about getting something from PEPID, but I'm just wondering what other people use and what they like.

If you have a Palm-based PDA, go with ABX-Guide from Johns Hopkins. I know it's available for Palm, it's possible that they have a PPC version now. Also Diagnosaurus is sometimes useful...once again, no idea if they've got a PPC version.
I thought I'd love having PDA apps, but I find that I'm more apt to grab my copies of Pocket Medicine or Sanford, etc than my phone/PDA. I love technology, but I guess I love books more...😕

i'm not in rotations yet, but merck medicus is worth way more than what I paid for it (nothing)! also have epocrates and diagnosaurus.

Epocrates for drug information/interactions (the Dx section sucks).

MedCalc because it has every formula you would ever be asked to calculate.

"Shots 2007" - free immunization guide you can download online. Epocrates. Lexi-comp if epocrates isnt enough detail.

i have tried PEPID before. it wasn't as useful as epocrates for me. for me epocrates is the only all-in-one software that's easy to use... i don't think PEPID's drug guide could match with epocrates either...

anyway... aside from epocrates, get hold of isilo! lots and lots of medical ebooks around. try meistermed for a start

There are a few "nursing" PDA programs out there that are basically the same as epocrates but a hell of a lot cheaper. I was comparing my nursing programs (that I paid a heck of a lot less for) with epocrates on a residents palm and they were basically the same thing. The only thing the nursing program did not have were some of the medical formulas, but I also have archimedes which basicaly covers all of those forumlas.

I have an AWESOME one for you... It is from skyscape. It is "English and Spanish Medical words and phrases"

You can look up abdomen and it gives you phrases like "Have you been vomiting? Do you have diarrhea? Where is teh pain? Has their been any blood in your stools?, etc.......
You can also look up any terms that would be used to describe the abdomen, or cardiac, or head or eyes, etc.....

You can look up the above stuff in english OR in spanish, so you have access to both languages. I used the program and would click on a question and let the patient read it straight from teh PDA screen. It is by far the best spanish/english program I have run across.

Just go to skyscape.com and do a search. I would include a link but for some reason it is not letting me access their site at this time. I have bought a bunch of things from that site and love it! I am a PDA program junkie😀

PEPID CRC is one of the best medical programs for the Blackberry. I'm using a 30 day trial version of the CRC on my Blackberry 8820. Works flawlessly and I'm already addicted to it. In fact, I was watching "Diagnosis X" on TV the other day, and was searching some interesting medical terms.

I want to buy it but PEPID CRC costs $400 for 2 years contract. If you use a Palm or Windows, don't buy CRC.

As somebody said, Mobile Merck Medicus is a nice program to get a quick review of various disease entities if you are about to go on teaching rounds or something and don't have time to read. And it's free. If you search for that name, you should find it easily.

5mcc, ferri's clinical advisor, harrisons, merck manual, oxford clinical medicine, wash manual.
stedman dictionary. a2zdrugs, clinician's pocket drug ref, drdrugs
abclabdata, archimedes
english spanish med dictionary.

many redundant. but i should have every nook and cranny covered.
