I know it depends on the number of places in the program, but generally, how many applicants does a program rank? Is there a particular ratio of applicants ranked per one spot in the program? Just curious. Best of luck to everyone.

i wish i knew the answer to this question! i've been wondering myself. the programs i visited all seemed to interview ~80-120 candidates. of those, i would think they would rank everyone except those people who really bombed the interview. and i'm sure not too many people bomb the interview...

thoughts (or better yet, actual facts), anyone?

Well, I don't know how helpful this is, but on the nrmp website

http://www.nrmp.org/res_match/about_res/impact.html

they say that for all specialties, the avg length of the ROL is 52-55 for programs that fill, and 20-30 for programs that don't fill. As far as psych goes, a couple of programs told me that they interview around 100 and rank around 50-75.
