Hello everyone,

I was wondering if people knew of other programs that required additional info other than the CAS for your application to be complete? UT Southwestern has a secondary form on its website and Georgetown requires a CV, photo, and personal statement sent separately. Anyone know of other programs?

I think UC San Diego requires an extra application form to be filled out as well.

I especially like the fact that UTSW "supplemental app" asks questions that are blatantly against hiring laws, such as asking for marital status.

yeah, that post is serious. be prepared to answer it during your interviews as well. it is a loaded question. i chose to answer it honestly. p.s. pastrami king, your atavar is making me hungry...i wish the hospital served pastrami!

Actually, the answer to the married question will be obvious since I wear my rings. He's also in school a year behind me so his ability to get into his own residency program will play a factor.

I am DREADING the kids question. To me the intention of the Q is obvious. It took years to convince my family its not their business. A residency director would not look too kindly on that response-they have a potential financial investment!

In addition to the programs already mentioned:
1) Univ of KY requires an eye exam by Oct. 1st
2) Tulane DID have addt'l requirements
3) The SF match directory also says that Nassau County Medical Center in New York requires a hospital application. I called them, though, and they said this would be sent out if we are granted an interview.
4)The Georgetown additional stuff (pers stat, cv, photo) needs to be in by Oct. 15th.

These are the only ones I found (plus ones already mentioned) after going through the entire list.

our esteemed friend ruben may be the best to answer this. does usc require a separate cv and photo? it seemed somewhat unclear from the website. thanks guys and good luck- great thread by the way- very useful! 🙂

unless it has changed from last year, usc does not require a photo. what i did last year was carry around a few photos with me on interviews. that way, if they ask you for one, you've got it right there. Good luck! P.S. GMB, wow, i'm "esteemed"? not an adjective i'm used to hearing as an intern 😉

usc does not require a separate CV to be sent. again, this is based upon last year's application cycle. but i bet things have not changed much. some chairs/program directors will invite you to update your file with additional materials after you interview, so it's a good idea to carry a CV with you when you go. good luck!
