Just wondering if anyone knows of any programs that have "problems", be it funding, citations, probations, etc. As Deans letters are now out more interviews should be rolling in and we all will hopefully have to decline a couple and this might be a way to decide on that kind of stuff. To be fair, I am new at this and know of none of these, but I have limited exposure.

I only know Medical college of ohio and NYMC Westchester are both on probation if you want to find out if any of your invites are on probation check out www.acgme.org Click on accrediated programs and sponsors on the rt and side, then click on accrediated programs and search for yours

why is NYMC-Westchester on probation?

I belive Yale is also on probation, due to breaking the 80 hr rule.

The University of South Florida in Tampa is on probation also.

Yale is NOT on probation!!! 🙂

True. I believe it is either the surgery or medicine program that is on probation.

Actually the niether the surg. nor the IM programs at Yale are on probation. I think the surg program was on probation a couple years ago for work hour issues but they got their accreditation back the same year. You can get a list of "programs in trouble" at www.acgme.org. 😀

U. of Mississippi is on probation according to a reviewer on scutwork.

umdnj newark is on probation..

correct!

Westchester may not be on probation, but the whole institution is in trouble -- $$ and otherwise. Don't take a chance.

Email forwarded to the anesthesiology dept at OU:
Dr. Fitch is PD.

"Dear Dr. Fitch,
My apologies if this information has not already been communicated from my office. The program was given Full Accreditation, with resurvey in 4 years. The RRC was especially commending about your accomplishments with the program. Congratulations.
