Has anyone heard, read, saw, etc. regarding next year's expected numbers? Will it shoot up from this current year's, which part of me vaguely remembers as being some of the lowest in years?
I know this sounds like I'm posturing, but I am curious and uninformed.
The state of affairs in the US has become quite dire in many respects, so I figure this could send people running towards the hallowed halls of academia, which is totally anybody's prerogative.
