Hi.
I am a medical student in Australia and I am wondering if any of you have ever had the problem where the Prometric Center to take the USMLE has been completely booked solid for your testing window.

I have to extend my testing window as a result but unfortunately, I don't know if the testing period will be booked solid then as well.

What do you recommend I should do?

I looked at taking it another city but it is full as well.

The TOEFL has changed their format this year and has completely booked the testing centers.... 🙁

That really sucks. What elig. period are you looking at? I'm looking to write this summer. I highly doubt the it would be booked for then, at least not this early. Also, do you have to write the TOEFL coming from Australia? Are you kidding me? You guys probably have the same or better command over the English language than most Americans. At the very least, your spelling of words like "coloUr" would be correct.

It's really odd- I've managed to book a period in March now because the computer had some errors....

I didn't write this clearly so I'll explain it again.

I don't have to write the TOEFL but people who write the TOEFL write it at the same Prometric centre where I would write the USMLE.

Unfortunately for me, they have introduced a new format to the TOEFL as of April 2006 and the Prometric centre is entirely booked for the month of April.

I am worried that May, June and July will be completely full as well.... and I have a strong feeling that I will need to extend my eligibility period because I am not ready to do well on the USMLE.

I can pass the test based on practice tests I've done but I really need to do well if I want to practice in the US.
