Proofreading service websites for Personal Statement

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I used Essay Edge last summer. It was expensive and I was EXTREMELY disappointed. For example, I wrote something along the lines of how I actually enjoyed going to the dentist and they changed it to something like.. i yearned to go to the dentist the way other kids yearned for the zoo. Yeah, pretty cheesy. And I didn't like that the made things up rather than proofread what I actually wrote. I would suggest using the learning center/career services at your university if it is available. It was free at my university and they did a much better job. Good luck!

a couple of my friends got scholarships because of this site...mdessay.com
im going to use it as well!

ya i agree but it may be worth it in the end..im going to invest in their 1k package to help me with my application, etc..

good luck!

i'd have to agree that it is expensive. But from what I read from the website, I like how they work, so I definitely will take this one into consideration 🙂

Good luck!:luck:

is the mdessay website good for dental schools? It seems like it is for medical schools.

At Elite Editing if you use their advanced editing, you can request a specific type of editor, like they have med school editors and professors, etc. They are much more affordable than essayedge and did a MUCH better job.

This introduction from the mdessay site made me laugh:
"We know first hand that applying to medical school is a grueling process. After slogging through the prerequisites, dueling with the MCATs and begging for Letters of Recommendations, you'd rather go to the dentist than write your personal statement. We can help take most of the stress out of the process. Your essay should tie your application together and help you shine."

I just thought it was funny, seeing as pre-dents use their service too.
