i dont know why im having so much trouble with this but what do i wear to an interview???? for guys its easy....wear a suit.

but for girls....we should wear a suit too but where can i buy one???? i find that most department stores only focus on men suits...

help!

ann taylor, banana republic, and j.crew all have really nice suits

On my interviews, the ladies usually wore pantsuits. You can get very nice pantsuits from Macy's. My wife used to be in business and all she wore was Tahari suits. They are very classy and will last you a long time. Bloomingdales should also have ladies pantsuits.

Good Luck!

Lord and Taylor also has great woman's suits -- check the petites section too. I just got a skirt suit there for $100. Just ask the sales clerks if you need help -- sometimes navigating the woman's department can be challenging.

no no no! it's traditional and more proper to wear skirt suits. to some, pant suits give off the sense that you don't know what you're doing. that you don't know how to dress in a professional arena (of course, the interviewer may not have a clue on how to dress either. In that case, wear whatever. But you avoid all problems with a skirt suit)

My Biochem professor has been on the admissions committee for 30 years, and he said that the outfit doesn't matter as much as long as it is clean, neat, tailored well, etc. He said that they don't specifically look at what you are wearing. I wore both pantsuits and skirtsuits depending on the weather and what I had clean and ready, in colors ranging from green to grey. Also, don't change clothes at the school after the interview; you don't want their last memory of you to be in your street clothes.

I got a very nice skirt suit and top from Ross for $30-something. No joke. Cute shoes from Payless cost me $15.
