Hi can any one solve my doubt abt which is the prophylactic drug used before dental procedure to prevent bacterial endocarditis
penicillin
amoxicillin
clindamycin
n also please specify should we consider the fact that few patients are allergic to penicillin so answer as amoxicillin or not

u give 1 hour prior to meeting 2 g of amoxicillin and if the patient is allergic u can give,clindamycin,azithromycin or clarithromyci..

ADA is the authority on that. Check SABE information on their site. What they say is currently accepted standard.
