Prosthodontics is a very good field if you are interested in it. It does take a very refined skill to be a good Prosthodontists. As of now its not as competitive as Ortho, OMS, Endo, or Perio. To be a competitive candidate you should graduate in the top half of your class and have good board scores. As u know specialists make tons of money, hence there apeall. Prosthodontists dont make as much as Endo, Perio, or OMS which tend to make 400-600k a year. 😱 They tend to average 200-300k a year but alot make more especially ones that are fellowship trained in Maxillofacial Prosthodontics. Prostho is a very small field, with less than 1500 members. I am not to sure about the future demand for them. I do know that OMS and Perio probably have the
best futures because there are far more OMS
retiring than coming into the work force and Perio is a very groud breaking field. I hope this info helped. 😉
