the recent post about the 5th circuit ruling in Texas got me thinking about what titles are "protected" in the field of psychology -- I just did a few minutes of googling but didn't find a concise list of protected titles.

I think the biggies that I'm thinking about are ABPP board certifications -- geropsychology, neuropsychology, pediatrics, etc. -- are these terms protected, or can anyone call themselves a geropsychologist etc.? Does this vary state by state, or are these titles protected nationally?

Addiction psychology is also a title I wonder about. It seems to have emerged as a partner to the growing field of addiction psychiatry. Am I correct that the only specialization in addiction for psychologists is the certification from the APA? I hope this is an area that can one day be ABPP board certified. What do others think?
