I would think that if a person is NOT digesting protein, then their bodies are consuming protein for tissue building and cell repair. Perhaps even muscle building.

On the other hand, if the protein were digested with our food, than we gain 4 calories/gram, and we metabolize, digest, and expel the proteins.

Therefore, some times when we eat proteins, I would think that we don't gain any caloric intake. What is your thoughts about this?
