hey all - this may be a rudimentary question, but why does this molecule have 4 equivalent H's?

is it equivalent because the 2 H's of each methylene (-CH2) groups see the same things on each side? then is it fair to say that equivalent H's are found wherever there is a plane of symmetry since rotation of these H's would not change the molecule?
