Protostomes and Deuterostomes

Came up with this acronym in case any one is having trouble remembering the differences between protostomes and deuterostomes. The acronym involves a Doctor theme.

Protostomes- Spiral Cleavage, Blastopore develops into the Mouth and they have Determinate cleavage

The acronym is: P.S.-M.D. (Protostomes-Spiral, Mouth, Determinate)- I like to think of this as your sending a post script to a doctor

Deuterostomes- Radial Cleavage, Blastopore develops into the Anus and they have Indeterminate cleavage.

The acronym is: Dr. A.I. (Deuterostomes-Radial, Anus, Indeterminate)- I like to think Dr. Allen Iverson 🙂

Hopefully this helps someone out there, I know it helped me keep the differences straight!
