Hi All,

I graduated with my DDS from India in December 05. I am yet to receive my official diploma from my university, though I have a provisional one. I had submitted my application packet with the provisional diploma (notarized copy) to NYU, but they claim that they will not accept this. I do not think I will get my official diploma earlier than next year (2007).

Has anyone else faced such a situation? Please do let me know...am at my wit's end trying to figure out what to do.

Thanks

Hey dewdrop, two quick solutions.........somebody in India fax the diploma to you......what's left me wondering is if you garduate in 2005, you shold have your diploma in your hand by 2006......NYU does not accept provisional degrees.....
as far as I know.

Tell somebody at your home in India to get your Degree certificate.....usually the uNiversities have them ready within one year......

Hope this helps.......

You completed internship in 2005? If yes, then your degree certificate will be ready with the University.......call them up and ask them......I got mine in a similar way.....

Yup, I was in a similar situation a while ago. If your annual convocation has occured, you are legally eligible to receive your official degree. However, most universities are terribly slow with processing. If you want it out of turn, you will probably need to know someone in the system, or visit them yourself.

If your annual convocation has not yet occured, the rules vary with universities. Some, like mine, have a provision to grant the official degree in advance of the convocation if you can show proof from a foreign univerity stating specifically that they will not accept a provisional in lieu of the original. This process is tedious. I doubt if it is possible in absentia, but may be doable if you are willing to visit them yourself.

When i applied there last year , I was told the same thing. Despite the fact that i send them the notary of my degree and not provisional certificate.

hi

I would like to know if nyu accepts notarized copies of toefl, ece and nbde scores.i would appreciate early response.
thanks

Hey dewdrop, my suggestion is contact ASAP someone in your hometown and tell them to vist the university under which you graduated and request the university personnel for your degree certificate. As you have graduated in 2005 the certificate should be almost ready in the university by now.

NO, NYU does not take notarized copies you have to send the official score reports directly from the respective organizations to the school.
