Hello Everyone,
I wanted to ask for your opinion on including the fact that I am a mother in my essay (Atlantic Bridge application). I think being a mother has tremendously enriched me as a person and it is one of the facets of my character/personality that would contribute to my being an "asset". I realize that I am a non-trad simply by virtue of being older already, so I am not certain if having children in addition to being older will in fact play against me. I can leave that out of the essay (it has good substance without this part, as this is mostly a side note), but the mention of motherhood also segues nicely into why I would love to be in Ireland (it would be the experience of a lifetime for my boys, not just for me... and at their young, impressionable ages... this is huge!). In your opinion, will mentioning my family be detrimental to my application? I just don't know much about the admissions "culture" there...
Thanks to all of you who have been so very helpful in giving some inside perspective on studying/living in Ireland... I started a new thread for this question in order to get as many opinions as possible (hopefully from those who may not have experience with kids in Ireland, thus not looking into my other thread, as well). 🙂
