I hope this isn't terribly inappropriate, it's just that I'm out of school and I live in a remote, rural area, so I don't have too many objective people to read my essay.

This may be true, but unless you plan on mentioning the osteopathic philosophy in your PS (which not everyone does, and it's not required) that thread will help you just the same.
