Anybody here has used PSPP before? I have to do some research in one of my classes and can't afford SPSS right now so I'm not sure if delay it several weeks till can get some money or if I can just use a free alternative. I know it probably depends on the particulars of my project, but I just want a general opinion, like if it's easy to learn and use and that you find it useful for simpler stats calculations.

Agreed (though I'm not sure what your experiences are - if you are an undergrad with minimal/no stats training R might be a lot to jump into).

Also check the university library. Have yet to hear of a major university that doesn't have stats software available for students. Heck I can remote access in and run SPSS, SAS and STATA from anywhere without even needing to install it.
