Please lemme know how to answer these questions at psych intereviews...


Your weaknesses?
why shd we take you..?????
why are the qualities in you which u thiink will make u a good psychiatrist.

The best ways to answer the questions is honestly. I don't think interviewers are looking for any specific answer but rather that you have put some thought into why you want to go into psychiatry and what aspects of your personality will be strengths or weaknesses in the field.

IIRC, you posted in another thread about mentioning your interested in psychotherapy during interviews. Most programs will see this as a positive; even programs that are known as being very biological tend to see the value in psychotherapy. I would caution against mentioning it as an interest if you really aren't. I saw one candidate end up putting her foot in her mouth when she kept on mentioning how much she was interested in psychotherapy only to be unable to answer any questions on what types or why she was interested in it.
