Psych malpractices and salary???

Hi. I'm currently a premed finishing my med school prereqs and majoring in psychology. I am 100% sure that I want to specialize in psychiatry after med school, but do have a few questions regarding malpractice rates as well as difference in pay between hospital and private practice income. Do psychiatrists in private practice have really high malpractice premiums in general and is this typically an issue for most of them? Also, do most psychiatrists in private practice get paid a lot more than those who choose to work in a mental health facility or hospital? Just curious. Thanks for your input.

malpractice isn't too high for psychiatrists, though there is some state to state variability. In Mississippi, most psychiatrists can get malpractice for less than $5000/year.
