i was invited to interview at a specific psych residency program. the program grades an applicant's interview skills and technique on a scale from 1-5, by having them interview a psych patient.

is this commonly done at psych residency interviews?
 
@ LSU they made us watch a video of an interview and give our working differential Dx's, but not an actual Pt.!!!!

An actual patient?!!

That could be brutal.

Imagine.

One interviewer gets some with a mood disorder, the next one gets someone with a (insert your favorite one here) personality disorder...
 
it's illegal to use a real pt unless interviewees are credentialed for that specific reason.

i assumed that the program was going to use a "mock patient", not a real patient.
