Hmmm I guess I would say that the therapist definitely would want to reduce recurrence of depressive episodes (choice B), but simply understanding the stress cycle (choice D) does not necessarily imply using that understanding to reduce recurrence of depressive episodes. For example, there are therapy modalities that demand building a large amount of insight for the client without the therapist making suggestions of any sort. (I believe Carl Rogers's theories were kind of like that, though I may be wrong.)
