How much training if any do psychiatric APRN's get in psychotherapy?

If so how often is it practiced or is the main purpose for this role diagnosis and med management?

Depends on the program. My program had a pretty hefty psychotherapy component. Most psych NPs' duties include diagnosis, case formulation, and med management with the therapy aspect referred out, since it's typically cheaper to pay an LCSW/MFT or psychologist to do it. However, in my current position I have recently been asked to do some psychotherapy, oddly enough. So never say never.
