The Waterbury Hospital Infectious Disease and Travel Clinic is seeking a CT-licensed Psychiatrist to see HIV-positive clients 6-8 hours/week (could be all in one day, or split between 2 days). The Clinic is a Ryan White-funded site functioning as the largest Clinic for HIV-infected patients in Northwest CT. The Clinic offers high-quality HIV primary care in a multidisciplinary fashion with the following on-site services: individual counseling (Social Worker), individual and group substance abuse treatment (Substance Abuse Counselor), suboxone therapy, medication adherence counseling, nutrition counseling, and medical case management. The psychiatrist would work collaboratively with the Social Worker/Substance Abuse Counselor as well as the HIV Provider. A private office with computer access to the clients’ medical record (Allscripts) will be provided.

The Waterbury Hospital Infectious Disease and Travel Clinic is located at 140 Grandview Avenue in Waterbury, CT. We have six examination rooms, as well as offices for ancillary staff, a large conference room, and a patient education center. Five HIV providers (four Infectious Disease physicians and an APRN) care for nearly 500 HIV-positive clients at the Clinic. Office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We work collaboratively with other community-based organizations including CT Counseling Center, StayWell Health, Regional Network of Programs, New Opportunities and the Waterbury Health Department.

Please contact the Program Coordinator Nadine Repinecz at (203) 574-4187 / [email protected] , or David Bigham, Senior Human Resources Consultant at (203) 573-6076 / [email protected] for more information about this opportunity.
