I am a 2nd year premed considering going to my native country of pakistan for medical college to save about two years.
I've heard alot about how tough it is for foreign students to get residency when they come back to the U.S. Despite this I am considering going because my major interest is psychiatry, and I read that 40% of psych residents are IMGs. I want to know how competitive psych is for a foreign grad (usmle scores average) and also your two cents about my considering going to pakistan

The two years you save in Pakistan will likely be spent as a lab monkey wielding a pipette or doling out heaping helpings of Ham-Ds while hoping and praying for a lower tier spot to open up in some program, any program, anywhere.

If you have the option, go to an American medical school.
