My understanding is that a Canadian psychiatry residency last 5 years. In the U.S., a psychiatry residency lasts 4 years.

If I want to move to Canada to eventually practice as a psychiatrist:

Will I need to complete a 1 year psych fellowship in the U.S., so that my residency training is equivalent in length to a Canadian psych residency?

Yes. Or, you could do 3 years of adult plus 2 years of child and adolescent.
