Psychiatry is a new religion. Here's why:
First of all, psychiatry has absolutely no objectivity. "Mental illnesses" are based on subjective assessments, and most of these "illnesses" describe behaviors that do not conform to societal norms. Just because someone is unusual does not mean he is ill. It just means that he's abnormal, and there's nothing wrong with it.
Second of all, psychiatry has the power to lock people up even if they haven't committed a crime. I was in a mental institution, and the doctor there told us that we were imprisoned because we disagreed with majority opinion. We were made to play games and draw with crayons as though we were in kindergarten. They thought I was delusional because I told them I wrote a book. They demanded to see my book, and when I showed it to them, the doctor read it in a public area where people could easily steal the idea. I asked him not to do this, and he condescendingly asked me, "Who? Who is going to steal it?"
In the past, priests claimed that people were possessed by the devil. Nowadays, psychiatrists claim that people have mental illnesses.
As far as I'm concerned, psychiatrists have committed crimes against humanity and should be imprisoned. I'm writing this to let people know what psychiatry looks like from the prisoner's perspective.
