I was not formally trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy (PP) nor psychoanalysis, but I find it fascinating. I have noticed that many psychiatry residencies teach PP.
How often do you make use of PP during your typical session and do you think it's effective?
What school of psychoanalysis do you adhere to: Sullivan's interpersonal psychoanalysis, Ego psychology, self psychology, Kleinian, more contemporary versions or some personalized combo?
Lastly, what would be a good book on the clinical and practical side of PP? This could be a book you were required to read or a more recent one that you may have purchased.
Thank you.
