Hello everyone,

I am currently working at a very busy private practice as a practicum student. I will be finishing up my practicum at the end of May and I asked my supervisor if I could continue working there as a psychological assistant when I am finished with practicum. He said yes, however he does not believe I will be billable to insurance companies. Does anybody living in California have any experience with being a psychological assistant and successfully billing insurance companies? If so, what can I tell him or what resources can I point him towards to show him that it is allowed? Thanks!

If you have no license, you can not bill. Period. However, dont you have to get some sort of temp practice license or something to be PA?

Yes, to be a psychological assistant you need to get a license through the state.
