At my college, psychology is part of the natural sciences division. I am starting research with a professor in the psychology department this fall (she is also part of the neuroscience program---I am a neuroscience major).

Would this person be suitable as a science LOR?

Also, I have done research with professors from colleges other than my own (one from SUNY Binghamton and one from Goldsmiths University of London). Would professors not from my college be allowed to write my professor LORs too?

Professors from other schools can certainly write you letters, but some medical schools specify that you need a certain number of letters from professors who taught you in class, so for those schools they would not fill that specific requirement.

Whether the psych prof counts as a science letter is probably also school-specific.
