Hey all! I saw this thread already: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/threads/counting-psychology-courses-towards-amcas-bcpm-gpa.587112/
But it's a bit old and I was kind of hoping for some clarification on my courses. The majority of my courses are cross listed with neuroscience (which was my major until this coming year) but I noticed it doesn't count as science. A few people said that you can try and get AMCAS to count it as a science (biology or chemistry) and I was hoping for your opinion. These are some classes I was thinking would count:
Abnormal Behaviour/Intro to Clinical Psych
Psychoneuroimmunology
Behavioural Neuroscience Lab (Animal handling, ethics, mRNA level tests, brain protein slides, etc.)
Principles and Methods in Neuroscience (lab/stats/ethics class)
Cellular Neuroscience (protein channels, action potential detail, basically brain at the cellular level)
Hormones and Behaviour (lots of overlap with MCAT hormones that's why its on here)
Systems Neuroscience (the ear, the eye, muscles, nerves, basically a physiology class)
Clinical Psychology
Also, this might be a stupid question but I just wanted to clarify, does anatomy count as a biology class? Or is it its own category and therefore not part of BCPM?
