Hey this might be a really silly question, but does anybody know how strict schools are with their psychology requirements? Specifically UCLA and UCSF.

Would one immediately be not considered, or is there some leeway if one has a good GPA from a good undergrad institution, a good DAT score, and years of work experience?

They check for the requirments after they give you a provisional admittance. If you're not gonna take them, then don't bother applying.

So basically, if I can take them later on if necessary, no need to worry about them for this summer?

Or I could alternatively take an online summer course just for the credit - are online courses frowned upon?

UCLA specifically doesnt accept any online classes, and yes you have to take that intro to psych class or they will revoke your admission....

UCSF wants at least one psych class. I called them earlier this year, and they didn't care that I had an upper division neuropsych class but no intro psych class. They said they just want to see something in the psychology discipline. This should make is easier for you; you can indicate at least some form of psychology in your "Planned Coursework" section and still be okay, I think. Not sure about UCLA however....
