Do most residency programs have their residents tape their sessions with your psychotherapy patients, so they can review them with their psychotherapy supervisors at a later time?

We do, although not every patient will sign the consent form. It's a GREAT technique for critiquing and improving psychotherapeutic technique, especially with time-limited treatments like CBT/DBT/IPT. I learned motivational interviewing using video supervision and it was great to see how my inflection/tone were still using questions when I was supposed to be doing simple reflections.
