A PSYPACT and insurance question:
If I reside in State A but hold a psychologist license in State B along with PSYPACT authorization, and both states participate in PSYPACT, would I be able to see State B clients covered by State B insurance panels while living in State A?
Thanks!

You need to be physically in your HOME state to deliver services via PSYPACT telehealth provisions. Are you licensed in State A? Also, you will need to be in network regardless, or have authorization to do OON services if you are not. Or bill patients and give them a superbill/

I already have a license in my home state (State A).

Do you have a contact with the insurance in state B?

Being an Insurance Company is a profession that is licensed at the state level. This is why there is “Acme Insurance of State A”, and “Acme Insurance of State B”. They are two separate companies. If you contract with “Acme State A”, it does not mean you have a de facto contract with “Acme State B”.

You could contact with both A&B, but those are separate contracts and entities. Maybe their contracts allow for nonresidential providers, maybe not.
