Remote PSYPACT jobs

Clinical Psychologist here looking to transition to a remote wfh position. I didn't find any suitable jobs in my home state so I am looking at out-of-state positions where I can use my PSYPACT authorization. I tried the standard job boards and found only a few. Also looked at a few specialized sites such as highered, psyjobs, etc. I did find one teaching position that interested me, but I am more clinically focused. I am primarily looking for W2 positions and would like to avoid some of the larger companies like Lifestance. Private practice, outpatient clinics, or hospitals could possibly all be a good fit for my skillset. Any recommendations for this job search?

How far are you into your career? If you have an area of specialty, you could probably ask around in professional circles associated with that specialty, find promising-looking private practices, and contact them to see if they're interested in having you join the practice remotely. Probably would help if you have someone in common who can vouch for you.

The answer would be:

Look for some niche shop, that sells something in which you specialize.

I am about 2 years out of fellowship. I do have a speciality area although my colleagues and classmates are all in academia/academic medicine. I actually only know one person in PP who I reached out to but they do forensic work exclusively. I'll reach out to a few more and see if someone knows someone, then maybe try some of the divisions/professional orgs and listservs.

If you are looking to stay within a niche, it may be difficult to find something suitable without going into business for yourself. The big companies like lifestance are the obvious places that have budgets to recruit. Beyond that, you may need to network and contact practices that are larger. It is hard for us to give more detailed advice without knowing the niche and your location.

That said, two years out of fellowship may not mean much. I have friends with niche practices that are remote. Most of the people I know that are doing this have 10-20 yrs of experience and can market themselves more easily as experts and consultants as well.
